Reaching for the sky?

Monday, February 28th, 2005

Well it’s that time again when Steve goes off to break some legs but somehow always comes back intact. This year (the 6th time) he thought he’d actually be safe and buy a helmet to wear, which turned out quite useful – as he lost his balance and fell off the top of a halfpipe and landed on his head. Nothing broken but a sore neck for a few days apparently.

The resort was Les 2 Alpes in france and it snowed every day during his visit but it was just a tad cold. -10 in the resort, -23 at the top, with a wind chill of around -30! The snow was good but with every black run moguled extensively this resort is quite geared up for the skiers out there. Also many of the red and blue runs had long flat areas which also arent a favourtie for the boarders. Having said that the snow park, boarder cross and halfpipe were excellent fun although high up and very cold if it happened to be a windy day!!

The back flip picture shown does hold a secret though which he didn’t want anyone to know, but here goes anyway – there was a big inflatable the other side of the ramp for practicing….. oops sorry Steve…

A big thank you?

Friday, February 11th, 2005

This is a personal thank you from Steve for everyone that donated to Macintyre Care after his girlfriends untimely and unfortunate passing away. In total just under £4000 was raised which is an amazing amount, but an amount that will provide untold enjoyment for those for which Ruth cared for at Macintyre.

The money will be spent on many areas, but with a focus on the music and dance aspects within which Ruth had particular interest. Items such as a Camcorder, Keyboard, Digital Camera, TV, Video, DVD player and the redecoration of the day room, re-carpeting of the craft room, the redecorating of outside facilities/replacement of benches and the painting of playground games onto the courtyard are but a few of the benefits for the users of the service provided at Macintyre Care.

A big hand and thanks to all, from Steve and the families.

For the last 6 months Bonfire has been working with a new venture that is set to revolutionise the on-line sporting community and how people interact with the sport and leisure market. This new venture goes by the name of majorsporty. The identity has now been unveiled with the full web based product to be revealed in the coming months.
