On Friday the 21st August Mario Cacciottolo, founder of the website

Jason's SOTM

Jason's SOTM

www.someoneoncetoldme.com, was invited by Bonfire Creative Intelligence to visit Ampthill in Bedfordshire.

www.someoneoncetoldme.com has a global following and has enjoyed much media coverage. Like all good ideas, the premise is simple: the site invites people to share something that someone once told them and lets them to tell their story. One picture per day is shown, and all are compelling.

Over 9 different organisations took part and Mario took away 14 new pictures for the website. The organisations that took part were Bonfire Creative Intelligence (an Ampthill-based branding consultancy) Leon Pearce (a Luton-based photographer), Ampthill Fireplaces, The Cooks Collection and Antiques Emporium (all in Ampthill), The Bedfordshire Humanists, Clarity in Communication Consultancy, Goodthings, Crisp Solutions, Panic, and the chef from The Prince of Wales! As for the pictures from the day – you will have to wait and see!

It was a fantastic day. The shots from the day will feature on the site over the next few months. This shows that small Bedfordshire businesses are up for taking part in community creative projects.

Do take a look at the site, and perhaps submit some of your own photos.

Boo! February round-up!

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Well hello and as another month passes we’re already flying through 2007.

Firstly we’d like to thank everyone who entered our ‘bon l’amour’ competition the response was very impressive. All comments and feedback will be used in the future development of our site. In fact the response was so good that we decided to extend the prize giving. Additional to the draw winner Lisa (you know who you are) getting the Red iPod Nano, the following four names pulled from the hat got an iPod shuffle! So congratulations to you all and thanks for your support. All in all the competition was a great success and we are looking at making competitions a regular feature of our site.

Aside from this we’ve been very busy indeed; the phase 2 Leith’s site went live earlier this month all programmed in .NET; we’ve been working on our new identity (yes we’ve decided to give it a revamp); we’ve been commissioned to produce a suite of 9 brochures for Cranfield University; we co-ran a design workshop for young people in order to produce the county wide Youth Charter for Bedfordshire; we started work on the LCAL website; oh and Steve climbed a tree for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf!

To top it all off we are about to launch another competition in the next few days called ‘I love Ampthill’. This is a local community project to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The winner of this will receive a framed large format canvas print of their work and it will go on permanent display for all to see in the entrance foyer to our studios! So pop back in a few days to get the low down.

Last and certainly not least we would like to welcome Andrew Foster on board. Andrew joins us from Bedford College and I’m sure he will make a great addition to the Bonfire team.

That’s about it for this month see you in 4 weeks with some more updates.

And into 2007?

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Well after a week off and the seasonal over-indulgence may we take this opportunity to wish you all a happy new year! May 2007 bring health and happiness to you all.

We have to be the first to admit we have been a bit busy over the past few months and the news section has suffered slightly, but with extra resources in place we should be able to stay on top of the site now!! Also look out for the ‘extras’ section as this will be quite a useful source for information in the future and also showcase some other work we’ve got in our archives!!

We’ll post up some photos of the refit as soon as its finished! And watch out for the publicity over the award towards the end of this month!!

Anyway here’s to 2007!

Happy Christmas

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

After over a month of silence we can now finally take a breath and say something. We’ve been manic the last couple of months winning the tender to produce next years campaign activity for PAXAR – generating a campaign for each of their 8 market sectors as opposed to last years highly successful awareness campaign. On top of that we have been commissioned to produce the Letchworth Garden City Tourist Guide for the second time in a row, delivered a brief to the students at Bedford College, been asked to produce another multimedia presentation for NEC Electronics, completed the Leith’s phase 2 website ready for hand over that will be going live over the next two weeks and much, much more. It’s been very busy indeed!

We’d like to thank you all this year for your custom and continued support it’s been a truly great  year – especially with the accreditation in November! This accreditation wouldn’t have been possible without you, so to you all we raise a glass. The TDA came and had their photoshoot last week and the publication and PR will start mid January so keep a look out. There will be a feature on our company and more information on the accreditation itself, what it means to us as a company and the industry as a whole. We’ve made design history by being the first company to be accredited in the UK!!

As usual we’ll be closed for business during the Christmas week, closing doors for business this friday at lunchtime and returning on Tuesday January the 2nd 2007!

Take care, have a great break and may your stockings be filled to the brim!

The Bonfire Team.

35 for number 6?

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006

Well yep I was another year older at 35 but I wasn’t prepared for what awaited me at Portmeirion!

What a strange place, you might remember it from the 60’s series ‘The Prisoner’ starring Patrick McGoohan, and a place you wouldn’t want to left alone!

Despite the obvious romanticism surrounding this enchanting part of North Wales, it’s only once you see the tourists leave and find out that no one actually lives there, you then realise its just you and a few other explorers lured in by Clough William Ellis’s dream of creating a habitat influenced by the colourful mediterranean costal towns and one that compliments its natural environment.

It’s a great place and as you explore you soon begin to understand the illusion that reveals itself during your stay (watch those second floor windows very carefully!).

If you get the chance go there, but maybe stay outside ‘the village’ as once the place empties you begin to feel a bit of a prisoner and maybe you could be the next number 6 trying to leave!

P.S. The tucker at Castle Deudraeth is absolutely pucker!!

Jason clocks another year closer to 40!

Friday, July 7th, 2006

Well well well when it comes the the race to 40 Jason is always a step ahead of the rest of us (bar Danny who has kind of forgotten what it was like).

Happy birthday to the OLDEST of the founding partners! blimey at this rate we’ll have to stop calling ourselves fresh!!

Well where do we begin?

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

Well it’s been a while since we last wrote. A lot has happened, we’ve been busy bees, so delve deep and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask.

Due to popular demand the map and directions to our spanking brand new studios have also finally been updated, with a major site overhaul due in the next couple of months!

We’re also working on this years marketing campaign and it will be one to watch out for. We know many of you have kept our tennis and snow ball mailings from last year and this new one will be a treat so keep you eyes peeled on that letterbox!

Anyway back to work now, we hope you appreciate some of the latest work and if you have any queries just drop us a line, email or pop in for an informal chat as we are always happy to help, advise on, or assess any marketing and branding requirements.

Toodle pip!
The Bonfire Team

Out with the old and in with the new?

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Happy New Year!

With Christmas over and 2006 firmly in play we can all look forward to the year ahead. This will be a particularly exciting year for us as we move premises to the historical market town of Ampthill. This should be at the end of February all being well, so watch this space.

We might, and I say might, also have an incidental cameo role in a TV documentary in the first half of the year which will be even more exciting than moving premises! So you may be dealing with celebrities in the very near future!!

Anyway its back to work and in with the new, we hope you all have a good year and look forward to working with you all again in the near future. For those of you we haven’t worked with yet what are you waiting for? give us a call!

2006 here we come!
